Doula Ayda member of ANQ (Association des Naturotherapeutes du Quebec)
My name is Ayda, I am a mother of four children. I have given birth in a hospital and birthing center setting. During my hospital birth, I didn't feel supported or that my wishes were respected. My second birth was at a birthing center where I felt empowered & respected. After the birth of my third child in 2004, I decided to work with pregnant women. I wanted to give women information, help them make informed decisions regarding their births and to be on their team at the time of labor. In 2005 I did my training as a doula. My passion for birth was ignited much earlier when as a young girl, growing up in a small town in the Middle East, I watched my mother work with women. She was a nurse/midwife who worked at different clinics. I had the privilege of seeing her attend to many women at the clinic.
My training with Montreal Birth Companions in 2006, has prepared me to attend births and offer a wealth of information to my clients.
Over the past 12 years I have attended well over 200 births. I had the privilege of assisting many families during their birth journey.
As of February 2017, I have obtained my ANQ certification (association des naturothérapeute du Québéc), I am able to provide my clients with insurance receipts.
